We spoke to these celebrities from varied professions and asked how they manage to stand apart in a crowd with their fashion intelligence, despite a crazy work schedule. Read on guys, there’s plenty of fashion inspiration for you.

Malvinder Singh, industrialist
What we love about him: The way he makes a cool fashion statement with his turbans, teamed up with perfectly smart suits, stylish ties and pocket squares.
Style to me is: Style is something very personal. It is a natural extension of one’s personality. It is something you feel comfortable in. For me it is subtle, understated and elegant.
Fashion sin i hate: Being pretentious. Trying to be someone you are not.
I shop from: I do my own shopping as I am very particular about what I wear. It is not about a brand, but something that appeals to me, fits well and I enjoy wearing. Sometimes, I end up designing and detailing my own clothes. I am meticulous and fussy to a fault. A trouser has to have the right fit.
Style icon: George Clooney, and James Bond. They dress sharp and their clothes compliment their personality.
Brands or high street: For me, it’s not about a particular brand. I buy what I like. I am equally happy with high street shopping as I am with brands. It’s not just about price. I must see value in what I buy, and brands often tend to be overpriced.
Fashion advice: Dress appropriately for the occasion. Wear clothes you can carry well and feel comfortable in. Be yourself and you’ll surely stand out.
My Fashion Picks:
For a family outing: A comfy pair of jeans and a nice T-shirt.
For a business dinner: A lounge suit, colour coordinated tie, pocket square and a crisp turban, tied to perfection. If it is more formal, a dark suit with coordinated accessories.
For a wedding: An elegant bandhgala
Gautam Kalra, stylist
What we love about him: Neon colours, wearing them all in one go, and pulling off the look so well.
Style to me is: Bohemian, a bit funky with a lot of underlying Indian influences. It’s also about how I’m feeling on a particular day.
Fashion sin i hate: Wearing excessive bling
I shop from: I get clothes customised to my unusual taste. I also pick up stuff from flea markets and team them up with branded wear.
Style icon: No one in particular. But I do love Marc Jacobs for his individuality.
Brands or high street: I’m not crazy about brands, but I do prefer customising clothes by Indian designers
Fashion advice: Do not blindly follow what others are doing to look fashionable — you’ll get it all wrong. Stay true to yourself. When confused, go minimal - a white cotton shirt and blue jeans can never fail you with the right accessories to complete the look. If you can pull it off, a bright pop of colour in any one of your accessories can make any
drab outfit look fab.
My Fashion Picks:
For a family outing: Light-coloured mid length stylised kurta and denims.
For a business dinner: Designer kurta shirt with interestingly cut trousers.
For a wedding: Black sherwani with mismatched bright churidaar and stole or jamavar shawl.
Jamal Sheikh, editor, Men’s Health
What we love about him: His relaxed style, and the way he makes his simple denim and jacket look work, even at parties.
Style to me is: An accessory to one’s individuality. Use it to make your personality stand out stronger.
Fashion sin i hate: Wearing something trendy, and making the garment look unsexy because it wasn’t meant for you in the first place.
I shop from: I shop when I’m travelling. That’s when I have the mindspace to explore stores. I’m a quick shopper :)
Style icon: I like the way Ranbir Kapoor dresses up. He’s about himself, not his clothes!
Brands or high street: Brands spell quality, not style.
Fashion advice: Don’t try too hard ... Being understated is better than over-the-top any day!
My Fashion Picks:
For a family outing: Linen pajamas and a fitted T-shirt.
For a business dinner: A dinner jacket, T-shirt and jeans.
For a wedding: Jodhpuris with a waist coat.
