Copa America semifinal delayed by Chicago storms
A line of storms rolled through the area about two hours before the game on Wednesday night, but cleared out in plenty of time for the teams to play the first half.
The second half of the Copa America semifinal between Chile and Colombia is being delayed by a strong band of thunderstorms passing through Chicago.
A line of storms rolled through the area about two hours before the game on Wednesday night, but cleared out in plenty of time for the teams to play the first half. But organizers asked the crowd to seek shelter at half-time, and then lightning was followed by sheets of rain at the home of the NFL’s Chicago Bears.
Chile led 2-0. It was unclear when the second half would begin.
The winner will face Argentina in the championship game on Sunday in New Jersey.
