Real Madrid and Portugal football star Cristiano Ronaldo has auctioned the replica of one of his four Ballon d’Or awards for a whopping 600,000 euros. The proceeds from the auction will go to Make-A-Wish foundation, which grants wishes to terminally ill children.

Cristiano Ronaldo won his first Ballon d’Or in 2008 with English Premier League club Manchester United and in 2013, 2014 and 2016 with Real Madrid.

The award is presented by a weekly French magazine France Football and is also known as the European Footballer of the Year Award.

Ronaldo had specifically asked for the replica of his 2013 award to be auctioned. The entire amount which has been generated will go to charity, reported The Mirror. The auction event was attended by Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola.

According to The Sun, the 2013 replica went to an Israeli businessman Idan Ofer.
