23-year old woman found dead in Gurgaon gym

Sofia Khan, who worked in a beauty parlour, was found dead in a Gurgaon gym. She was not a member of the gym. Police are investigating suicide, but her family elieves there is more to the tragedy than meets the eye

A 23-year old woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a gym in Sector 12 of Gurgaon. Police are investigating the case as a suicide.

The victim, identified as Sofia Khan, a native of Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh, was staying with her family at Kapashera in Delhi, near the Gurgaon border.

As per the victim’s family, Khan worked in a beauty parlour in Kapashera and it was not known how she reached the gym and why she committed suicide.

“The information about the suicide came to us at 5.30pm and we immediately came to the gym. We are investigating the matter and will find out the reason why the woman took such an extreme step,” said Devender Singh, investigating officer of the case.

Regulars at the Fitness Pro gym came in around 4pm and saw Khan lying dead on a mat. She was wearing a yellow shirt with black a dupatta around her neck.

The brother of the victim, who rushed to the spot, told the police that they were surprised at how Khan reached the gym, as she was not a member.

“Our family lives in Kapashera and there is no reason for her to go there. We were a happy family and there is a need to investigate how she reached here and how she died,” said the brother.
