“On Saturday night, when Bhupti (victim), along with his family members, was sleeping, seven men broke in and started looting jewellery, money and other valuables. When Bhupti tried to raise an alarm, the seven men brutally beat him with sticks to death and fled from there,” said Brahmaprakash, the owner of the farm house where the incident took place.

The Gurgaon police recovered the victim’s body and sent it for post-mortem.

The accused stole jewellery and money from the house.

According to the police, Brahmaprakash, a native of Bhimgadh, owns a farm at Vishnu Colony in Rajendra Park and he had employed Ashrafi, hailing from Uttar Pradesh, as a caretaker of the field. The police said the victim was the father-in-law of Ashraf, who had left for his hometown a few days ago, putting his father-in-law in-charge.

The police have registered an FIR of murder and dacoity based on the testimony of Brahmaprakash.

The notorious kacha-banyan gang is believed to have done the crime though the police have not confirmed involvement of any particular gang as yet.
