Gurgaon police arrest woman for land fraud worth lakhs
40-year-old Molshri Pachauri was arrested in Gurgaon for allegedly duping several people of lakhs of rupees on the pretext of selling her mother’s flat in Gurgaon.
A 40-year-old woman, identified as Molshri Pachauri, was arrested on Tuesday in Gurgaon for allegedly duping several people of lakhs of rupees on the pretext of selling her mother’s flat in Gurgaon.

The accused, sources said, is related to R K Pachauri, the former chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
The police said Molshri, who lives in flat number 103 in the Valley View Estate Apartment near Gwal Pahari on Gurgaon-Faridabad road, was arrested after a number of complaints of duping prospective buyers of the flat in which she was living were filed against her. The flat is registered in her mother Juhi Pachauri’s name. Molshri is the daughter of Arun Kumar Pachauri, brother of RK Pachauri, sources said.
According to the police, Molshri, an alleged repeat offender, had duped a number of people in Gurgaon in a similar manner, though only three reported it. The police, quoting complainants, said she would reach an agreement with a prospective buyer and take a token amount from that person. She would then opt for another buyer for a higher rate on the same flat.
An FIR was lodged against Molshri at DLF Phase 1 police station on March 25, 2015, by one Reena Gupta, a woman who lives in flat number 704 in the same building. In her complaint, she alleged that Molshri cheated her of Rs 19.4 lakh after striking a deal for the flat for Rs 96 lakh.
Gupta told the police that Molshri refused to register the flat in her name even after signing the agreement.
“She took Rs 19 lakh from Reena Gupta and refused to transfer the property to the latter’s name. Instead, she went on striking deals with other buyers for bigger amounts,” a police officer, investigating the case, said.
Molshri is also accused of duping one Tanya Chatterjee and Kabir Kochar of Rs 1 lakh and Rs 10 lakh, respectively, in a similar fashion.
Molshri was produced before the court on Tuesday and remanded in judicial custody for 14 days.
