The protesters handed a memorandum to the deputy commissioner, seeking early settlement of the dispute pending since August 2012.

Five Hero Moto Corp workers have been on a fast-unto-death since February 28 as several rounds of negotiations over wage hike of 1,200 workers have failed to resolve the deadlock.

Workers want a three-fold hike in monthly wages over a period of three years which amounts to nearly Rs 15,000-16,000.

The company is offering about Rs 6,500 only.

Though production at the plant which rolls out around 7,000 motorcycles has not been hit, a police contingent has been stationed as a precaution.
