The parents, who have been on the forefront of the agitation and have been demanding the principal’s sacking, feared a “backlash” by the principal if she continues to be in the chair upon her return from Australia.
The parents, who were earlier talking to the media and giving statements, have suddenly refused to come on record.
“The management of Suncity World School has started using pressure tactics on the parents of other students who were participating in the agitation. The school teachers are calling up parents and convincing them to pull out of the protest,” said a parent on the condition of anonymity.
Another parent said the Saturday meeting had been organised as they feared that the school management was softening its stance against the principal.
“All sorts of tactics are being tried by the school management on parents. Some parents have also started posting remarks on the Facebook page in favour of the school management. It is a pity that the school principal has not bothered to talk to the parents ever since the incident was reported and is still in Australia,” said another parent.
