Plot owners carrying out commercial activities in Gurugram’s Sushant Lok to face action

The move comes after a resident sent a complaint to the CM Window alleging that guest houses, nursing homes, clinic and gyms are being operated in the residential area, causing lot of problems for residents.

Action would be taken against plot owners carrying out commercial activities in Sushant Lok 2 and 3, officials of the department of town and country planning (DTCP) said on Wednesday. The move comes after a resident sent a complaint to the CM Window alleging that guest houses, nursing homes, clinic and gyms are being operated in the residential area, causing lot of problems for residents.

Taking cognizance of the complaints, the DTCP’s enforcement wing has decided to conduct a detailed survey in the colony to identify the houses where commercial activity is being carried out, said officials. Once the survey is over, the DTP enforcement will issue notices to the owners, and they will be given 15 days to stop such activities.

“If these notices are not taken seriously, the houses will be sealed,” Amit Madholiya, assistant town planner (e), said.

On February 15, Rajender Goyal, a resident of Sushant Lok, filed a complaint saying that despite repeated complaints to the authorities, a number of guest houses were being run and other commercial activities carried out in Sushant Lok 2 and 3. The complaint said that offices of property dealers, nursing homes, clinics, gymnasiums and even hospitals were being run at houses, inconveniencing residents no end.

DTCP officials said that Sushant Lok 2 and 3 have been developed over 500 acres and they have started identifying the violators.

“A list of violators will be prepared and on the basis of that, notices will be issued to house owners. If illegal commercial activities are not stopped within the notice period, the buildings would be sealed,” Madholiya, said.
