Robbery bid foiled in Sec 56, four arrested

The crime branch of the Gurgaon police busted a four-member gang on Friday night when they were planning a robbery at Sector 56. HT reports.

The crime branch of the Gurgaon police busted a four-member gang on Friday night when they were planning a robbery at Sector 56.

The accused were identified as Kunish, alias Banti, Deepak, Babloo, alias Nafis Ahmed, and Ombir.

The police said the gang members were also involved in several cases of loot, burglary, chain snatching, carjacking and murder in Gurgaon as well as surrounding districts.

Maheshwar Dayal, deputy commissioner of police (east), said, “Acting on a tip-off, our team headed by Rajbir Singh, in-charge of crime branch, Sector 46, reached the site in Sector 56 and nabbed the four accused when they alighted from their SUV.”

Weapons were also recovered from their possession.

DCP Dayal said the accused had looted a private company two days ago.

The police said the four were working as security guards in private companies and later ganged up to commit robberies.

“The accused looted cash and valuable leather products from a leather factory at Udyog Vihar a fortnight ago,” said the DCP.

He said cases had been lodged against the accused in several police stations in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
