A dispensary set up in Sector 5 for the beneficiaries of the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), will take at least one more year to open.
The facility was scheduled to open in the first week of January. But now, the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) has sought an extension of the deadline to complete construction.
In a letter dated January 8, the estate officer-1 of Huda, Gurgaon, Narender Yadav, wrote to the chief administrator DPS Nagal at Panchkula, requesting for an extension of the deadline up to December 31, 2013.
“…the construction of the building is completed by the CPWD but sewer and water connection could not be obtained as the extension of time of construction has been exhausted, so kindly grant the time limit of construction up to 31.12.2013,” the letter read.
According to the members of the CGHS Beneficiaries’ Welfare Association (CGHS BWA), the construction of the two-floor dispensary was completed way back in August 2012, but was awaiting the completion certificate from Huda.
“Huda has applied for another extension to issue the completion certificate. Moreover, laying the sewer and water connections too will take some time,” said Dr DR Dey, the consultant of this project.
The dispensary is expected to benefit over 30,000 CGHS beneficiaries living in the nearby sectors.
Officials of Huda could not be reached for comments despite repeated attempts on Tuesday.
