SHO caught accepting Rs. 1 lakh bribe

A team of the Haryana state vigilance bureau arrested a station house officer of the Gurgaon police and one more person for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 1 lakh for dropping the name of a complainant in a bank forgery case.

A team of the Haryana state vigilance bureau arrested a station house officer of the Gurgaon police and one more person for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 1 lakh for dropping the name of a complainant in a bank forgery case. Vigilance sleuths said Rajender Kumar, resident of Lakshman Vihar, approached them alleging that the SHO of Sadar police had demanded a bribe of Rs. 3 lakh from him to clear his name in a fraud case. Kumar was a guarantor for a bank loan of Rs. 20 lakh for his friend. After his friend failed to repay the loan, a case was registered against both. “We caught them red-handed,,” said Joginder Mehra, SSP, state vigilance department.
