A state-level programme under the aegis of Student Legal Literacy Mission would be organised in Gurgaon on May 19.

Punjab & Haryana High Court judge, Justice SK Mittal, who is the executive chairman of the Haryana State Legal Services Authority (HALSA), announced that Supreme Court judge, Justice P Sathasivam, would be the chief guest and Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda would also be present.
Mittal said Haryana was the only state in India where Student Legal Literacy Mission has been implemented to make students aware about their legal rights and duties. The programme had been appreciated throughout the country and now other states are also trying to adopt it.
He said as many as 1,600 government high and senior secondary schools of the state and more than 600 private schools had been covered under the programme so far. Student Legal Literacy Clubs had been opened in all these schools.
As of now, 25-30 lakh students have been covered under this programme.
