Tea vendor stabbed to death near Gurugram Sector 56 Rapid Metro station

According to the police, they received a call around 9.20 am from a passerby, who found the man lying in a pool of blood adjacent to the tea stall, which was near a makeshift place where he used to live.

According to the police, they received a call around 9.20 am from a passerby, who found the man lying in a pool of blood adjacent to the tea stall, which was near a makeshift place where he used to live.

The police said they reached the spot within 15 minutes and shifted the victim to the Civil Hospital. He was declared brought dead on arrival, the police said.

The deceased was identified as Amar Singh, a resident of village Damodar in Alwar, Rajasthan.

Pradeep Dangi, station house officer, Sector 56 police station, said they are yet to track the assailants and find any lead in the case. “We have quizzed more than 20 people in the area to ascertain the reason behind the murder. The family (Singh’s relatives) is yet to arrive. We will record their statements and find out if there is any suspect. On the basis of that information, we will add names to the FIR,” he said.

The police said the man was stabbed with a sharp object multiple times on the head, chin, shoulder and stomach. The preliminary investigation revealed that the murder would have taken place after 2.30am, as the man was spotted near the stall around that time.

Singh had been running the tea stall, one kilometre away from the Sector 56 police station, for the last year.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted on Sunday, the police said. A case under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC was registered on Saturday.
