A 37-year-old woman has filed a complaint against her live-in partner for allegedly raping her several times on pretext of marriage for the past eight years.

She also claimed that the man used to thrash when she would plead with him for marriage.

The police filed an FIR against the accused and presented him in a court that sent him to 14-days’ judicial custody at Bhondsi jail. The accused has been identified as Ramesh, hailing from Odisha. According to the police, Ramesh lives in a rented accommodation at Dundahera. The woman works as an export agent in a private firm where she met Ramesh and later decided to live with him. Investigative officer Ajit Singh said, “We have filed a complaint on the basis of the victim’s testimony and a medical test.”
