Count your calories, work your muscles and you may be on your way to Singapore soon. Fitness First, a city club, has tied up with the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) to organize a contest for their members, with a four night /five day holiday package to Singapore up for grabs. Sandeep Sachdev, winner of 2007 reality show Biggest Loser Jeetega and celebrity trainer at Fitness First, is the face of this challenge.

The ‘Get in Shape for Singapore’ contest is currently taking place at all Fitness First clubs in India. On August 25, four members who can burn the maximum number of calories, from four cities where the club is located, will be adjudged winners.

Good incentive
“Everyone looks for motivation to adopt a healthier lifestyle. A trip to Singapore is a great incentive,” says Sachdev, adding, “This contest would have really excited me in my pre-Biggest Loser Jeetega days. I can totally identify with the joy that members feel when they achieve their fitness goals” The STB is also excited to extend their support to the contest. “Singapore strongly believes in the importance of fitness and health. The city offers a range of soft-adventure and energetic activities, which contribute to an active holiday,” says Jessica Sim, area director, Northern and Eastern India.

With more than 500 members registered for the challenge, Fitness First is taking appropriate measures to ensure that participants don’t get carried away or exert themselves.

“A team of fitness managers is monitoring exercise routines of all the participants. If we spot huge variances, the results are double-checked,” says Sachdev, advising participants to take it easy and enjoy the process of attaining fitness.
