Have a bronze, then flaunt it!

Throw those whitening creams and anti-tanning lotions out the window.
Indian gals have bronze skin that’s admired and lusted after by the world.. and it’s time to invite those jealous looks. This summer, fashion gets naughty.. and so should you.
Nude hues and see-through fabrics are as hot as this maddening heat wave and look delicious on olive-toned skin. While girls with pale or fair skin run the risk of looking washed out, beach goddesses can rule this trend. Seen on every ramp from Stella McCartney to Vineet Bahl, those barely-there hues invite the “Is she? .. isn’t she?” glances that will have you smiling all day.
Pair a floaty chiffon top with a fitted skirt in a darker hue to make the most of this look. Racer back tops and blouses festooned with broderie anglaise can add that girlie humour.
For a party, choose from a range of tones that include ecru, champagne, tan, beige and ivory. Wanna raise some eyebrows? Wear a sexy bikini top under your sheer blouse, but be sure to cover up until you reach your party destination.
One-shouldered tops and dresses are making a comeback on the runway and look great for the summer. Toned shoulders and citrus colours complete this trend.
Detailed cut-outs on the backs turn your simple dress into a three-dimensional canvas. Don’t be afraid to play with eyelets, plunging backs and even a lace-up design like those showcased at Preen.
Distressed denims are back thanks to Tarun Tahiliani and Christophe Décarnin of Balmain.
Insistent on giving the 1980’s some much-needed fashion credibility, these masters have re-invented the acid-wash, torn jeans to look super sexy.
Pair it with a plain white vest and chunky heels à la Kate Moss. Want the best of both worlds? Try adding on a pair of pearls and a snooty blazer and you’ll be revving towards style icon status.
A word of caution to the fashion addicts — this look really only works on a toned body. So use it as an excuse to shape up.
If you always wanted to dabble in animal prints but didn’t really have the chance to do it, this is the season to go wild.
Python skin is the ‘it’ pattern of the season and is showing up in every accessory from skinny belts to high, high heels.
Kaleidoscopic snakeskin is also hot if you don’t like the authentic reptilian look. Gladiator flats are the summer essential, adding a punk edge to even the most innocent outfit.
Pair it with the season’s kaftans and distressed denims for a little irreverence. Cage heels are gladiators on steroids and have an instant supermodel effect.
They make your legs look super-long and give you the height and posture you’ve always dreamed of. And a gladiator heel in python leather.. almost too good to be true.
For a sober business dinner, a strappy pair of snakeskin sandals are all you need for that signature statement.
