Winters are almost there and one gets worried about the dry skin at this time of the year. Here are some tips to get a glowy skin even in the winters.

1

Avoid hot showers:

Do not bath or shower in very hot water. Instead use lukewarm water. If your skin is very dry, do not bathe more than once a day.

2

Use cold cream:

At night use a cold cream or moisturiser on your face. If you have oily skin, then use an oil-free moisturiser.

3

Drink lots of water:

Internal hydration keeps skin cells healthy. Water also helps transport nutrients to skin cells, keeping them nourished.

4

Eat well:

Cold weather can cause the body’s systems to stagnate. Eating warm foods, drinking warm water or herbal/spice teas, and moderate daily exercise can help improve circulation, digestion and elimination, thus keeping skin healthy. It is important to have knowledge of the vitamin content in different foods that are good for the skin.

5

Lip care:

Lips always seem to lose the battle with winter’s cruelty. Fight back with lip balm. Dry, cracked hands are unappealing and painful too. Utilise appropriate winter attire to combat this problem.
