Avengers Infinity War poised to become fastest film to earn $1 billion at box office
Avengers Infinity War is the 17th film from Disney and the sixth from Marvel Studios to earn over $1 billion at the global box office.

Avengers: Infinity War, the Disney spectacle of the year, is all set to become the fastest film ever to earn $1 billion worldwide. And the time in which the superhero saga will earn the money: 11 days! According to Forbes, with its Saturday earning, the 19th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will cross $400 million mark in the US and $1 billion (roughly Rs 6682 crore in Indian currency) mark worldwide.
The first of a two-part installment from the MCU, featuring a bloated credit list including Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Josh Brolin and many others, Infinity War will be the 34th film to pass that box-office milestone. It is the 17th from Disney and the sixth from Marvel Studios.
On Friday, the Walt Disney Co. said Saturday that the Marvel superhero saga had earned just under $975 million in global box office through Friday. Since Avengers: Infinity War earned nearly $70 million on Friday alone, the studio is confident it will pass the billion-dollar mark on Saturday, in 11 days.
The previous record of fastest time for a movie to make a $1 billion was 12 days for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. With this milestone, Disney surpassed $3 billion in global gross revenue for the calendar year in record speed. The previous mark, also by Disney, was May 6, 2016.
The star-stuffed Infinity Wars features Robert Downey Jr., Benedict Cumberbatch, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, and Chadwick Boseman, whose Black Panther movie has made more than $1.3 billion and remains in theatres.
