Hollywood actor Ben Stiller is taking his charitable work in Haiti forward by pledging to build eight new schools in the earthquake ravaged country.

The Meet The Fockers star established The Stiller Foundation following the earthquake which devastated the poverty stricken nation in January 2010.

He has been hosting benefits and auctions to boost donations for his school building mission to help rebuild the country, reported Contactmusic.

The 46-year-old returned to Haiti this weekend to sign a joint venture with local telecoms bosses to construct the new education facilities.

"Great day in Haiti. Signed an agreement with Digicel Foundation to build 8 schools," Stiller wrote on Twitter.

Stiller isn't the only celebrity in Haiti actress Patricia Arquette, designer Donna Karan and reality Television stars Kim Kardashian and her mother Kris Jenner have also jetted to the impoverished nation to lend a hand to relief efforts.

The famous females are working with We Advance, the charity organisation co-founded by actress Maria Bello.
