Following the announcement that Brie Larson is the first choice to play the superhero, a new report says Niki Caro and Jennifer Kent are among the directors being eyed for the gig, reports the Independent.

Both are independent directors who have received critical acclaim - Caro with 2002 New Zealand family film Whale Rider and 2015’s McFarland, USA and Kent with her 2014 Australian horror debut The Babadook.
