Though we have already seen stills from the film, a poster is always welcome. Imagine Entertainment released the first posters from the upcoming sequel to superhit 2006 film Da Vinci Code, Inferno starring Tom Hanks, Felicity Jones and Indian export to Hollywood, Irfann Khan.
The movie is directed by Academy Award-winning director Ron Howard and is adapted from popular author Dan Brown’s book by the same name. Inferno (the book) is fourth in the Robert Langdon series, following Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons (written before Da Vinci Code but released later) and The Lost Symbol. However, the sequence of the movies’ release is a little messed up: Da Vinci Code (2006), Angels and Demons (2009) and now Inferno (October 14, 2016). The Lost Symbol did not get any movie of it’s own.
In the poster, our genius symbologist Robert Langdon’s expression looks confused. As book readers already know, Langdon has amnesia in this movie and still has to solve a world crisis.
Here is the official synopsis for the movie, provided on IMDb:
When Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia, he teams up with Dr. Sienna Brooks (Felicity Jones). Together, they race across Europe and against the clock to foil a deadly global plot.
Both the earlier movies did great business with Da Vinci Code raking in about $750 million and Angels and Demons earning about $500 million worldwide. Therefore, the hopes of fans and producers with this one will also be high.
Irfann Khan plays ‘The Provost’, the villain- Ben Foster’s, right hand man. Felicity Jones plays Langdon’s new companion on the adventure.
Here are a few movie stills for you to chew on until the teaser comes out on Monday:
