The Konch police were also in look out for the JD(U) leader for his nexus with ultra-Left organisations and he allegedly used to supply arms and ammunition to the extremist groups. Following the arrest, Tekari JD(U) MLA and state president of the party’s youth wing, Abhay Kushwaha, announced Saw’s expulsion from the party and removal from the party’s post.

Saw has been forwarded to jail. Reports quoting police sources said acting on a tip off the SSB jawans and Konch police station house officer (SHO) Jyoti Basu started checking the vehicles near Dadreji turning on Gaya-Goh Road. From Saw’s bike they recovered liquor and took him to the police station for interrogation.

During quizzing, Saw confessed that he had links with the Maoists for whom he used to play the role of middleman for either collecting levy or supplying arms and ammunition.

The Konch police had been in lookout for Saw ever since recovery of huge quantity of explosives and gelatins concealed in a field near Usas-Deora village. Saw was made the named accused in the case and booked under various sections of the IPC and CL Act.
