Magadh University vice chancellor Md Ishtiaq on Friday ordered suspension of Usha Sinha, principal of Ganga Devi College in Patna, following her arrest in the infamous Bihar toppers’ scam case.

The notification in this regard is likely to be issued on Saturday.

Sources in the university said the V-C and MU registrar Sitaram Singh had earlier held a meeting of officials soon after the arrest of Sinha along with her husband BSEB chief Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh, the kingpin of the Bihar merit scam, in Varanasi on June 20. The meeting had resolved to put Sinha under suspension as per statutes and Act of the university.
