Two paramilitary troopers suffered minor injuries when militants fired at a convoy of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Thursday morning in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, police said.

The Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) claimed responsibility for the attack in Lazibal area of Anantnag.
“A convoy of the 96th Battalion of the CRPF with six buses was on its way back to Mattan, when it was attacked by militants. The attack was repulsed by the personnel. Two jawans suffered minor injuries in the attack and the militants escaped,” a senior police officer in Anantnag told HT.
A cordon and search operation was launched in the area to nab the attackers, he added.
