DK Shivakumar oath ceremony LIVE: With the Congress leadership deciding the contours of the new Karnataka cabinet, which will be formed under the leadership of DK Shivakumar, party leader Yathindra Siddaramaiah, son of outgoing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, has said he had been assured by Rahul Gandhi that he would be inducted into the cabinet.

Yathindra Siddaramaiah said he was not looking at a particular portfolio. Asked if he is looking to be Deputy Chief Minister, he said "No".

"Last time I visited high command, Rahul Gandhi said that my interest will be taken care of, and he said I would be inducted into the cabinet, so I'm hopeful. Whatever the portfolio is, I'll be happy," Yathindra Siddaramaiah said.

DK Shivakumar oath ceremony LIVE: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee chief D K Shivakumar on Wednesday met outgoing CM Siddaramaiah, veteran BJP leader B S Yediyurappa, and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda and invited them to his swearing-in ceremony, where he would take oath as the chief minister.

Shivakumar visited Siddaramaiah at his 'Cauvery' residence here and expressed his gratitude ahead of the swearing-in ceremony, which is scheduled to take place at Lok Bhavan's Glass House at 4.05 PM.

Later, the CM-designate visited veteran BJP leader Yediyurappa at his residence here and invited him for the ceremony.

Speaking to reporters after meeting Yediyurappa, Shivakumar said, "they have guided the state, they have worked for the state and they have contributed for the state. All of us have to work together." (PTI)
