Four killed, three injured as SUV plunges into gorge in Shimla

Four people were killed and three injured when the Mahindra Bolero SUV they were travelling in plunged into a gorge at Dona in Nankhari, about 115km from Shimla, late on Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Ashish, 25, Surender, 30, Dalip Kumar, 26, and Hem Chand, 27, all from Danavali village.

The injured, including Suresh Kumar (driver), Neeraj Kumar and Sunder, were rushed to a hospital in Nankhari from where two of them have been shifted to Indira Gandhi Medical College in Shimla.
Police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving and launched a probe.
Postmortem examination of the bodies is being conducted.
