Ghulam Nabi Azad welcome in BJP, says new-entrant Kuldeep Bishnoi; 'I can persuade'
The veteran Congress leader on Friday sent a five-page note to party interim president Sonia Gandhi in which he recounted his long journey and listed out all the reasons behind his resignation.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kuldeep Bishnoi, who recently joined the BJP after facing suspension from the Congress, on Friday said Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad is welcome in the party. This comes as Azad resigned from all posts of the Congress party, including the primary membership. The BJP leader further slammed the opposition party and said that it is in “self-destruction, suicidal mode”.
“It won't be wrong to say that Congress is in self-destruction, suicidal mode. I suggest Rahul Gandhi sets aside his ego. Ghulam Nabi Azad is welcome in BJP. If the party asks me, then I can persuade him to join the party,” the BJP leader told news agency ANI.

According to Ghulam Nabi Azad, the situation in the Congress party has reached a point of 'no return'. He further slammed Rahul Gandhi and said that the party's loss is because “in the past eight years, the leadership has tried to foist a non-serious individual at the helm of the party”.
Meanwhile, reacting to the letter by the former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister, the Congress said that “it is most unfortunate and regrettable that a letter like that was dropped at a time when the entire Congress is united to fight the BJP in its Bharat Jodo Yatra”.
"At a time when every Congressman and woman are involved in ensuring that the campaign becomes a success and every Congress person wants to walk along with Shri Rahul Gandhiji along this 35,000-km Bharat Jodo Yatra, it's most unfortunate and regrettable that at this point of time we have had to read the letter that has been released today," Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said.
