Hit and run: Elderly dies as speeding SUV rams into his scooter

LUCKNOW A 62-year-old city resident, identified as Ram Krishna Singh, died after his scooter was hit by a speeding SUV on the Naka-Hussainganj flyover late on Wednesday evening. Another motorbike-borne person, who was also hit by the four-wheeler, sustained multiple injuries in the accident.

Sharing further details, Brijesh Dwivedi, SHO, Naka Hindola police station, said, “The accident took place on the Naka-Hussainganj flyover near DAV College when the speeding SUV rammed into a motorbike and a scooter. While the scooter-borne man succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital, the motorbike borne-person has also sustained wounds and is being attended to by doctors.”

The cop added, “No FIR has been registered in the case yet as the accused driver fled the spot but we will soon trace the man and take necessary legal action.”
