“Militants snatched two weapons from policemen guarding members of minority community at Tumlahal village in Pulwama,” a police official said in Srinagar, reports IANS.

The area was cordoned off and search operations launched.

A policeman was killed while another cop and a civilian were injured on Friday night in a similar incident when militants fired at a picket in a village in Jamnagri area at Shopian district of south Kashmir.

Minority posts were set up by the security forces in villages where members of the Kashmiri Pandit community continue to live.

Majority of the local Kashmiri Pandit community migrated out of the Valley in the early 1990s with the outbreak of the separatist violence.
