No police complaint was lodged till Monday in connection with alleged stripping of some girl hostellers at Akal University, Talwandi Sabo, three days after four women employees were sacked for the wrongdoing.

A hostel warden, an assistant hostel warden and two female security guards were terminated from service after hundreds of university girl students protested against alleged stripping of the hostellers to check who among them was menstruating and dumped a used sanitary napkin in toilet.

The alleged incident took place on Thursday night. The students had filed a complaint with vice-chancellor Gurmail Singh the next day.

Talwandi Sabo station house officer (SHO) Sukhdev Singh said they have not received a complaint from either girls or university authority in this connection. Neither the vice-chancellor nor registrar Swaran Singh could be contacted despite repeated attempts.

Punjab State Women Commission chairperson Manisha Gulati said the matter has not come to her notice yet.
