She further pointed out that Pakistan’s defence of The Resistance Front (TRF) at the United Nations Security Council itself served as evidence of their complicity.

TRF had initially claimed responsibility for the Pahalgam terror attack – which killed 26 people – through a post on X, but later withdrew the statement, alleging their account was hacked.

“P Chidambaram, who was the former Home Minister, has given a clean chit to Pakistan. The same people, when they were in power, used to say that there is no hand of Pakistan. The former Home Minister and former Finance Minister should realise that such statements embolden Pakistan's stand,” Joshi said.

This was the Opposition's demand that the Operation Sindoor and Pahalgam terror attack be discussed in Parliament. A special discussion is tabled today, and the Opposition most probably will cooperate with the government to discuss the matter... It is very evident that the foreign policy of the government of India is a total failure.... Though the military exercise was a big success. We salute the armed forces of our country. But the failure of the government has to be highlighted. The Opposition will highlight the failures of the government, intelligence, as well as the foreign policy failure..."

He acknowledged the success of the armed forces in the military operation but asserted that the Opposition would use the debate to underline the government’s shortcomings, particularly on intelligence and foreign policy fronts.

Parliament Monsoon Session live: As he reached Parliament and was asked about the Operation Sindoor debate in the Lok Sabha, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor responded, “I am on Maunvrat (a vow of silence).”

It remains uncertain whether Tharoor — who led the party’s delegation to the US and other countries — will be chosen by the Congress to speak in the House. His vocal support for the government’s response to the Pahalgam terror attack has reportedly strained his relationship with the party.

Parliament Monsoon Session live: LJP (Ram Vilas) MP Shambhavi Choudhary strongly condemned AIIA President Maulana Sajid Rashidi’s derogatory remarks against SP MP Dimple Yadav, calling it an attack on women’s dignity with a communal undertone. "We are raising our voice against the way a woman's dignity was targeted based on communalism. The party may have any ideology, but we must come together for the dignity of women," she said.

She also criticised SP chief Akhilesh Yadav for staying silent, saying, "What is most shameful is that Akhilesh Yadav did not raise his voice in support of his wife for the sake of his politics... The way Sajid Rashidi has spoken against Dimple Yadav is not acceptable... Samajwadi Party's politics of appeasement..."

The outrage stems from remarks made by Rashidi during a television debate last week, where he lashed out at Dimple Yadav for entering a mosque without covering her head — remarks widely denounced as misogynistic and offensive.

The incident gained traction after BJP leaders circulated a photo showing SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, MPs Mohibulla Nadvi (also Imam of the mosque near Parliament), Dimple Yadav, Dharmendra Yadav, Zia ur Rahman Barq, and others sitting inside the mosque, calling it a “political meeting.”

Commenting on the petition against Justice Varma, Gogoi added, "Congress MPs have signed the petition introduced in the Lok Sabha. Several questions have emerged in the media concerning the former Vice President, and we felt it was important to seek clarity on the government’s position."
