Second wife cuts man’s private parts in Assam for allegedly neglecting her
Sofiur Rahman had his genitals cut by his second wife who alleged that he stayed with his first wife and made her toil in the fields.
Angry at being neglected by her husband, who used to stay with his first wife, a woman cut his genitals in Dhubri town of Assam, police said on Sunday.

The incident happened at Bahadurtari area of Dhubri town, nearly 285 km from the state capital of Guwahati, early on Saturday.
The victim, Sofiur Rahman, who is stated to be critical, has been shifted to Guwahati for treatment.
Rahman, in his late 30s, had married Momina Khatun, in her late 20s, six months ago. But instead of living with her, he kept Khatun in another house.
“Khatun told us that Rahman lived with his first wife and visited her rarely. She was upset as she was made to work in the field and not treated well,” said Longnit Terong, superintendant of police, Dhubri district.
Khatun managed to convince Rahman to spend the night with her on Friday and when he was fast asleep, she cut his genitals with a sharp blade.
“Momina fled the scene after the crime, but Rahman’s cries for help alerted neighbours who managed to catch her and hand her over to us,” said Ajit Kumar Rai, officer in-charge of Dhubri police station.
Police say Rahman’s genitals has not been completely severed but he is in a critical state due to excessive bleeding.
