Secretarial reshuffle: AN Jha to replace Ashok Lavasa as new expenditure secy

He will assume the charge of officer on special duty till Lavasa’s term is over on October 31.

He will assume the charge of officer on special duty till Lavasa’s term is over on October 31.

Jha comes to finance ministry from the ministry of environment and forest and filling up his vacancy there will be CK Mishra.

Mishra, a 1983 batch IAS officer of the Bihar cadre, was the health secretary before his new appointment. Preeti Sudan will take over Mishra’s post in the health ministry.

In a departure from the convention of appointing bureaucrats to the position of secretary, Vadiya Rajesh Kotecha, who was appointed the special secretary in the AYUSH ministry in June this year, has been made its secretary for three years.

Injeti Srinivas, secretary in sports department and director general of Sports Authority of India (SAI), takes over from Tapan Ray who has retired from the ministry of corporate affairs. Srinivas will be replaced by Rahul Prasad Bhatnagar.

In a notification from the department of personnel and training, appointments and reshuffle of 13 civil servants were announced on Wednesday.
