Chief minister Siddaramaiah has ordered the transfer of H S Venkatesh, DIG, railways, official sources said on Thursday.

The CM reportedly sought a report regarding the incident in a meeting with top police officials on Wednesday, the sources added.

Venkatesh has not been given a posting.

The video has come as an embarrassment to the government which is bracing itself to deal with the constabulary which has threatened to go on mass leave on June 4, to protest against alleged harassment of lower rank police personnel by senior officials and inadequate pay, among other issues.

The video in question showed police personnel in their uniform cleaning the community hall that is owned by Venkatesh and was reportedly shot by constables.
