17:45 hrs IST : New Zealand are bundled for 265 as de Grandhomme’s valiant knock comes to an end. He scored 33 off 21 deliveries but while going for the maximum, could only find Shivam Chaudhary at deep square-leg. Trent Boult had been cleaned up by Unadkat earlier and it all rested on Grandhomme’s shoulder to see the Kiwis through. Glenn Phillips remains not out on 10 as Unadkat finishes with figures of 3/62. Board President XI win the first game by 30 runs.
17:28 hrs IST: Unadkat sends pack Mitch Santner and it only makes matters worse for the Kiwis. Grandhomme had taken charge at the other end and with a six and a four had given his side a bit of a hope but with his partner playing one on to his stumps, it’ll be interesting to see how he reacts with his side still 62 runs away from victory. New Zealand reach 234/8 at the end of the 44th over.
17:10 hrs IST: New Zealand’s losing the plot in the exact same manner as India had. Three wickets in two consecutive overs, including two by Shahbaz Nadeem in the 41st. The slide started with the settled Tom Lathan holing one to Avesh Khan in deep square-leg before Nadeem cleaning up Adam Milne (2) and TIme Southee (0) in the space of three deliveries. Mitch Santner and Colin de Grandhomme have a lot to do with their side still 91 runs away from victory. At the end of the 41st over, New Zealand are reeling at 205/7.
17:00 hrs IST: Latham gets a lifeline as Prithvi Shaw fails to hold on to a tough chance at deep fine leg off Avesh Khan. The left-hander makes most of it by cracking the final ball off Karn Sharma’s next over through cover to bring up his half-century. New Zealand need to accelerate as they need another 106 runs to win off 72 balls. New Zealand are 196/4 after 38 overs.
16:43 hrs IST: Taylor (34) gifts his wicket away. New Zealand were cruising and there was no need to poke the rising ball and then pull back from his intended shot. A thin edge and Pant won’t drop these behind the stumps. Avesh Khan gets his first wicket and the Kiwis are at 180/4 after 35.1 overs. Santner joins Latham (47) in the middle now.
16:29 hrs IST: Tom Latham has been responding well to his new batting position. The selectors and the coach had stated that they wanted the southpaw to come lower down the order and add stability in the department. He’s raced to 41 off 38 deliveries as New Zealand are 166/3 at the end of the 32nd over. The Kiwis require another 130 runs in 108 deliveries. Taylor’s so far been sluggish, batting on 28 off 44 deliveries.
16:14 hrs IST: New Zealand reach 150 at the end of the 29th over. Latham looks in good nick as he sweeps well down the leg side. Both batsmen are waiting for bad balls to be punished while picking up the singles and twos. New Zealand need 146 in 126 deliveries with 7 wickets in hand.
16:06 hrs IST: Both Latham and Taylor are relying on the ones and twos and not trying anything fancy out in the middle. New Zealand reach 133/3 after 26 overs. Taylor’s batting on 14 and Latham on 21.
15:53 hrs IST: Williamson departs after a steady 47. Tried to sweep one off Karn Sharma but gets a leading edge and that’s a simple catch for the leg-spinner. Skipper Kane Williamson joined Munro out in the middle.

13:40 hrs IST: Board President’s XI end their innings at 295 for the loss of nine wickets. Not quite the finish they had anticipated or was on cards after the openers put up the 147-runs stand. But they only have themselves to blame as the last five wickets were gone in the space of just 34 deliveries that yielded 24 runs. Boult finishes with five wickets to his name for the Kiwis
13:19 hrs IST: It’s double trouble for Board President’s XI as Boult removes both Nair (78) and new-man Shivan Chaudhary (0). Nair’s caught in the deep while trying to launch Trent Boult over the cover region and it’s well held by Colin Munro who had to cover quite a bit of a ground to take that catch. Chaudhary walks back after edging one to the keeper. Board President’s XI reach 278/7 at the end of the 47th over.
12:59 hrs IST: Nair’s enjoying his time out in the middle and India look poised to cross the 300-mark. He’s raced to 74 off 60 deliveries. Gurkeerat’s still playing the supporting role at the other end with 11 off 18 deliveries. Board President’s XI 269/4 at the end of 44 overs.

12:32 hrs IST: Rishabh Pant heads back after a few classic pulls off the short balls and rotating the strike well with Nair. Had raced to 15 off just 13 deliveries before nicking one off Boult to wicket-keeper Glenn Phillips. Nair on the other hand is relying on the singles and twos to keep the scoreboard ticking. He’s on 25 at the moment off 30 deliveries of which only two have been sent to the fence. Board President XI reach 211/4 after 37 overs.
12:10 hrs IST: The skipper’s gone. Shreyas Iyer (17) tries to loft one over the inside circle to pick up a boundary but only to find the fielder at mid-off. Williamson had to run to his left to hold on to it but with the ball staying in air for quite some time, it was a comfortable take in the end. Board President’s XI reach 183/3 at the end of 33 overs.
11:52 hrs IST: Couple of boundaries for Shreyas Iyer in his short stay at the crease so far. Nair’s hit one as well and doesn’t looked too bothered playing the spinners. Board President’s XI are 165/2 after 29 overs.
11:41 hrs IST: And there goes Prithvi as well. Williamson decides to bring on spinners from both ends and it’s Mitchell Santner who has joined Sodhi from the other end. He lures Prithvi to charge down the ground with the flight but the youngster mistimes it and only holes one to long-off, where Nicholls takes yet another comfortable catch. Skipper Shreyas Iyer walks out in the middle now. Board President’s XI reach 151/2 at the end of the 26th over.

11:15 hrs IST: BP XI are cruising at the moment. Both openers seem to have settled in comfortably and the shots are flowing off the bat. Rahul has had a lucky reprieve after being caught off a no-ball and he’s just one shy of his half-century at the moment. Prithvi’s at 54, having struck seven boundaries and a towering six. Rahul hit one six down the ground as well, and it came right after the Kiwis celebrated his dismissal for a couple of seconds. 21 overs gone, BP XI are 116/0. That’s 27 runs in the last three overs.

10:16 hrs IST: The ice-packs are out as well with Southee rubbing one on his neck. No, not an injury or a muscle pull, it’s the heat that has welcomed the Kiwis here at the Brabourne Stadium.

10:00 hrs IST: At the end of six overs, BP XI are 29/0. Rahul is batting on 15 while Prithvi is on 7. While both batsmen seem to have settled in, there’s a fair amount of bounce on offer for Trent Boult and Tim Southee.
