The team collected blood samples of Ishtkhar (30), Saherbano (28), Wakil Ahmed (35), Simmi (32), Danish (21) and Negar Fatima (15). All these patients were suffering from high fever and joint pain. Their samples would be sent to SGPGI Lucknow to confirm the presence of chicken gunia virus.
Dr VK Mishra said the patients appeared to suffer from viral fever. “But we don’t want to take any risk. Their blood samples will be send to SGPGI for advance chicken gunia test. The direction in this regard was issued by the CMO,” he informed. Meanwhile, the joint team of urban malaria department and Nagar Nigam conducted fogging in Mohsinganj, Khuldabad and Nurullah Road. District malaria officer DN Shukla said before fogging, insecticide was sprayed to kill mosquito larva.
