Polling in the Mumbai municipal polls had got off to a peaceful start since morning and around 10 per cent of the 84 lakh electorate had exercised their vote in the first three hours, State Election Commissioner Nandlal said in Mumbai.
"Polling has been peaceful and there have been no problems at all. In the first three hours, around nine to 10 per cent voting had been reported," Nandlal told in Mumbai.
Political parties also expressed their satisfaction with the process, saying barring nominal problems, voting was on smoothly.
"I have been all over the Western suburbs and polling has been progressing normally. Barring some incidents of incomplete voting lists in some areas of Vile Parle, and some EVM machines taking a while to start, which delayed polling, there has been no problem whatsoever," BJP leader Vinod Tawade said in Mumbai.
