100 kg ganja seized in Noida; 3 women among 11 held

Police on Monday arrested 11 people, three of them women, allegedly involved in supplying ganja in the NCR area and recovered a quintal of the contraband from them.

Police said the smugglers were arrested at 1.45 am at Sector-IV in Jhundpura in Noida. A car and Rs 1.5 lakh in cash were seized from them. One of them, however, escaped from the police net before arrest.

Gang used to collect the narcotic from Orissa and supply it in NCR towns. While five of them hailed from Orissa, others were residents of Delhi.

The arrested were identified as Gaddiram Gochhat, Sibbu Gochhat, Lochan, Sahdoy, Baksar, Zahar, Rajkumar, Devidin, Pushpa, Rani and Punam.
