16 NRIs get British honours
They received New Year Honours for their outstanding contribution to the society in various walks of life.
As many as 16 Non-Resident Indians in Britain on Friday received New Year Honours for their outstanding contribution to the society in various walks of life.

Anu Kiran Vedi, Group chief executive, Genesis Housing Group, was conferred the title Commander of the British Empire (CBE) for service to housing.
Five were chosen for the title Order of the British Empire (OBE) and ten were made Members of the British Empire (MBE).
Among the recipients of the OBE were Dr Kishori Gopal Agrawal, JP, General Medical practitioner, Sandwell, West Midlands, for service to the Healthcare and Rev Dr Inderjit Bhogal, Methodist Minister, for service to Inter-faith Relations.
Sarindar Singh Sahota, Chair, received the OBE for service to the community in Handsworth, Birmingham while Pamela Minerva Odette Singh, formerly Head teacher, Pope John Roman Catholic Primary, Stepherds Bush, London, was awarded for Service to Education.
Sadru Visram, Chair, ASRA Gt London Housing Association, received the OBE for service to Social Housing.
The MBE recipients included Dr Hari Pada Adhikary, for service to the Bengali community in the UK, Mrs Balbir Bahrha, Grade C2, Ministry of Defence and Mrs Brij Lata Gandhi, for service to Community Relations and to Charity in Scotland.
Parmod Kad was made an MBE for service to Community Relations in Southall, London while Thakorbhai Mistry received the award for service to the community in Alconbury, Cambridgeshire.
