Gargi Mishra, Class 11 student of Chiranjeev Bharti School, is waiting for her school to reopen. She is eagerly waiting to resume her environment awareness drive among students of neighbourhood schools in Sushant Lok.
She is the only Tetra Pak ambassador from Gurgaon, selected from among 20 ambassadors nominated from Mumbai, Bangalore, Chandigarh and NCR. She is entitled to lead a team of 25 students from her school to carry out awareness programmes.
Her tryst with environment conservation happened in December last year, when she went to Daman Ganga paper recycling unit at Vapi, Gujarat, by Tetra Pak.
“The trip was an eye-opener. I saw the process of converting waste polythene bags into tissue papers, notebooks, roof sheets and CD covers,” said Mishra. Her school bagged the Tetra Pak Resource Centre award after her team collected 16 kg of polythene bags.
Surprisingly, she wants to become a software engineer. “I don’t need to be a professional to work for the environment. In fact, I will work for recycling electronic waste,” she added.
