While hearing the case, special judge (anti-corruption), UC Pandey sentenced the employees—-Ramnarayan Pandey (an accountant) and Santosh Kumar Srivastawa (a clerk) for taking bribe from teachers for release of their salaries. A fine of Rs 15,000 was also imposed on both the employees in this connection..
According to information, Basic Shiksha Adhikari of Phatehpur district had sent a salary bill of six teachers to the accountant. Both the accountant and clerk sought ten percent of the total amount as a bribe to release the salary bill.
Later, the teachers agreed to fulfill his demand.
Simultaneously, these teachers also lodged their complaints with the Anti-Corruption Department in Allahabad district. On the complaint of teachers, the sleuths of Anti Corruption Wing arrested both the employees red-handed while taking an amount of Rs 5000 as a bribe from teachers on May 6, 1995.
Meanwhile in another case, additional session judge (IInd) DN Agrawal on Tuesday sentenced Ram Prasad Gupta, for 5 years of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 50,000 for possessing ‘Ganja.’
According to information, the sleuths of Central Excise Department arrested Gupta on August 10, 2000 and recovered 180 kg Ganja in 41 different packets from his car. Another accused Babulal Kushwaha is still absconding.
