2 killed in train-mini truck collision in Ferozepur

Two persons died on the spot when Ahmedabad bound Jammu Tawi express collided with a mini truck at an unmanned level crossing near village Kasu Begu, around 20 kms from the district headquarters on Thursday, police said.

Two persons died on the spot when Ahmedabad bound Jammu Tawi express collided with a mini truck at an unmanned level crossing near village Kasu Begu, around 20 kms from the district headquarters on Thursday, police said.

When the running train hit the mini truck, the impact was so strong that it wobbled into air before breaking into pieces.

The two persons traveling in the mini-truck were coming from Sadiq and going towards Village Vajidpur. Both the persons died before they could be taken to hospital.

One of the deceased has been identified as Kuldeep Singh, resident of village Kauni in district Faridkot whereas the other person could not be identified.

With the impact so strong, the power of the rail engine also broke down, and the rail officials had to send another power to restore the train.

Railways officials including those from GRP, RPF also reached the spot immediately after getting the news regarding the mishap and started the enquiry into the incident.
