25 rounded up, including two MNS corporators, in Nasik
Twenty-five MNS activists, including two municipal corporators, have been rounded up following attacks on fruit-vendors and pelting of stones in Nasik.
MNS corporators Sunanda Kharote from Ward No 34 and Vijay Ovhal from Ward No 37, were taken into custody, party corporator Pratap Mehrolia told PTI.
Mehrolia said that Tuesday's incidents at Nasik road and other areas in the district attacking hawkers, were to express protest against the likely arrest of their leader Raj Thackeray.
City Police Commissioner S M Sayyed denied reports of north Indians leaving Nasik.
He told reporters that security on Satpur-Ambad Link road, where north Indians stay in large numbers has been stepped up.
However, the situation in Nasik city was under control, Sayyed added.
