29 people injured in twin grenade attacks in J&K
The grenades explode within a span of four hours in Pulwama and Srinagar districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
In stepped up violence, 29 people, including six Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, were injured as ultras exploded two grenades.
The grenades explode within a span of four hours in Pulwama and Srinagar districts of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, official sources said.
The first grenade attack was carried out by terrorists at a crowded bus stand in Pulwama town resulting in injuries to 25 people, including two CRPF jawans, at around 12.15 pm, the sources said.
The condition of four of the injured was stated to be serious and they were brought in Srinagar for specialised treatment, they said.
The attack was followed by a similar incident at Samkochbal in Khanyar locality in Srinagar at 4 pm which left four CRPF personnel injured, they said.
The injured included Deputy Commandant DN Mishra, sub-inspector Vijay Kumar, Head Constable Jaswant Singh and constable SB Lokaday.
The CRPF personnel were deboarding their vehicle to carryout checking when the ultras struck.
Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist outfit has claimed responsibility for the two attacks.
The latest grenade blasts comes barely a day after terrorists triggered two explosions, one at Katidarwaza-Rainawari in downtown Srinagar and Takiabal on Bijbehara-Sirigufwara Road in Anantnag district which left nine people, including three policemen, injured and a police vehicle damaged.
