3 mishaps in 24 hrs kill 3 in Ghaziabad

Rash driving, speeding, lack of control over vehicles caused accidents; SP calls for registering of FIR in cases.

Three persons died, while six were injured in three accidents in the past 24 hours in Ghaziabad. According to the police, rash driving and speeding caused the mishaps.

Two accidents occurred near Mohan Nagar on Sunday evening, while the other was reported from Meerut crossing near the Raj Nagar Extension area on NH-58 on Monday.

On Sunday, a car hit four vehicles, which were waiting at a traffic signal near Mohan Nagar. The car driver sustained injuries and died. In another accident, a car hit a company's private van, which was being towed away. One person lost his life in the incident.

On Monday morning, a speeding truck carrying LPG cylinders hit three persons riding on a bike at Meerut crossing near Raj Nagar Extension. One lost his life in the mishap, while two were injured. The injured were rushed to a hospital.

“Speeding and lack of control over vehicles led to the accidents. Six persons were injured in three accidents and admitted to various hospitals. We have ordered FIR to be lodged in the cases,” said SS Yadav, superintendent of police.
