A truck carrying Afghan nationals, apparently illegal immigrants, collided with a transport truck in southern Turkey, leaving at least 30 people dead, officials said.

The accident occurred near the southern town of Osmaniye in Adana province, the governor's office in Adana said. Private NTV television reported that more than 30 people died and that authorities were trying to count bodies scattered around on the highway.
Turkey is a major transit point for African, Middle Eastern and Central Asian migrants attempting to enter Europe illegally.
