Five more persons died of encephalitis in eastern Uttar Pradesh, taking the toll in the dreaded brain fever to 110 this season, a senior health official said on Tuesday.
Fifteen new patients with symptoms of the disease have been admitted to Gorakhpur Medical College Hospital and District Hospital since Monday, Additional Director (Health) Dr Umakant Prasad said.
At present, 108 people are undergoing treatment at the GMC hospital, 11 in Gorakhpur district hospital and two in Kushinagar district hospital, Prasad added.
