The batch, including 92 women and 22 children, left in a fleet of 18 vehicles from the base camp of MAM stadium in Jammu, officials said.

The vehicles carrying yatris had already crossed Batote and were expected to reach Pahalgam and Baltal camps this evening, they said.

The yatra was going on smoothly despite rains lashing some areas along the Jammu-Srinagar highway, officials said.

With Thursday's batch as many as 72,466 pilgrims have left from here for the Amarnath shrine since the commencement of yatra on June 10.
