7/11 blasts: Two brothers arrested in Mumbai
Two brothers, detained by police on the suspicion of being Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) operatives, were arrested on Thursday night in connection with the serial blasts in commuter trains in Mumbai.
Faizal Sheikh and Muzammil Sheikh, the two brothers from Mira Road in neighbouring Thane district, had been detained for the past two weeks after the blasts on July 11, Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) sources said.
The sources said they are suspected to have acted as motivators to send youths to undergo training at LeT camps in Pakistan.
The two have also undergone LeT training in Pakistan, the sources said.
Muzammil, who works as software programmer with an MNC at Bangalore, is alleged to have taught LeT members on how to use internet chat sites for secret communication, to bypass usual telecommunication, which is highly intercepted by central intelligence agencies, the sources said.
The two were picked up by Mumbai Crime Branch and interrogated, before they were handed over to ATS on Thursday, the sources said.
